I Am a Loser!

Filed under: Uncategorized — jensimonepuleo @ 2:36 am

And it feels great.  I love 6 pounds my first week on Weight Watchers.  Some days are easy breazy, others are a struggle.  I had Chinese food the other night for the first time in ages, dumb idea.  I ate more than I should have and I’m holding the weight because of all the sodium.  I stayed on track with points but I learned my lesson not to go eating whatever I want.

Part of the program is teaching you about better eating habits.  Rather than simply eating your points away for the day pay attention to what you’re eating.  If Doritos have the same value as 23 almonds, go for the almonds, they’re better for you.  It’s not only about eating less, it’s about eating smarter.  Don’t stuff your face with the Doritos, eat the almonds!

That being said, I had Doritos yesterday, almonds today though.  The difference from just two weeks ago, I ate 12 Doritos, not the bag.  I’m learning, I’m changing—smart cookie as my mom used to say 🙂

I scream, you scream, we all scream for bananas, peanut butter and hazelnuts!

Hmmm? YUP!  Call me Elvis but I love me some peanut butter and banana sandwiches.  But this snack or small meal can really add up in points.  I buy an all natural peanut butter and 2 tblsp is 5 points plus bread is another couple of points by the time all is said and done.  I wanted to pack this snack with more protein and make it more filling but use less carbs.

I cut up a banana and then warmed up 1 tblsp on peanut butter (2.5 points).  Yummy enough by itself but I knew I’d need a little more punch and really wanted some crunch.  I grabbed some hazelnuts and only topped my yummy breakfast with 1/8 cup of chopped hazelnuts.  It may not sound like a lot but it’s the perfect amount for this delicious and nutritious dish.  Took me longer to post about it than to make it and eat it!  A new favorite for breakfast for me.

No more cookies, no more chips, no more fat slob sandwiches!

While you are changing your eating habits you do not need to completely limit yourself but you should say no more cookies, no more chips, no more fat slob sandwiches.  Come on, you all know the sandwich, loaded with all kinds of delicious deli meats, lettuce, tomato, mayo AND oil and vinegar.  This sandwich is so big you can barely fit it in your mouth.  Stop eating those.  Cut back your portions if you’re eating this sandwich—every. single. day.  Day two on Weight Watchers and I am no pro.  I am learning along the way.  It took me half hour to decide what to eat for lunch because I knew I was stopping at McDonald’s.  Imagine planning a fast food meal?  What a pain in the tush!  Even though the grilled chicken sandwich was definitely a better choice than a Big Mac it still was high in points (9 with no mayo).  Will this break the bank?  No but this can’t happen every day.

I am no planner either, but I want to be.  Does that count?  Well, I am going to have to change my ways and start planning a lot more.  Planning ahead definitely will help on your weight loss journey just as it will help mine.

Sing it with me friends no more cookies, no more chips, no more fat slob sandwiches!!!!

Day Two

Filed under: Uncategorized — jensimonepuleo @ 10:29 pm

Not day one, but day two. That’s me, a day late and a dollar short—-always.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Jen, I live in upstate NY and have 2 kids. I’m married for almost 15 years now and work as an Aflac agent. I also go to school part time. Yeah, I’m pretty busy. With all that goes along with work, school and life with a 7 & 9 (almost) year old I have found it difficult to stay on any kind of “diet.” I started Weight Watchers yesterday, therefore, today is day two. I will post healthy recipes, quick snack ideas and points values as much as I can for those other Weight Watchers out there.
